About Us & Our Blends

What is the inspiration behind your blends?

We have a simple vision. We curate blends inspired by traditional herbal medicine, using gentle, food-like herbs that bring warmth, comfort, and balance into daily life. Our goal is to share herbal expertise and knowledge rooted in tradition through our easy-to-prepare granulated blends. They dissolve directly in hot water — no tea bags needed. Each blend carries its own character and purpose within this vision.

Our hope is that these blends become anchors for you — small rituals to turn to for stability and comfort in an often chaotic world.

What makes All's Well Teas and Elixirs unique?

We value simplicity, and every detail is chosen with intention and care. Our blends:

  • Contain no tea bags —only herbal granules that dissolve directly in hot water (so you don’t have to worry about the chemicals and microplastics often found in tea bags)
  • Are made from 5:1 full-spectrum herbal extracts, meaning just 1 gram of granules equals 5 grams of raw herbs
  • Use premium-quality herbs sourced from suppliers trusted by herbal practitioners
  • Have no added sugars, fillers, flavors, or preservatives — only concentrated herbal granules. A small amount of hypoallergenic maltodextrin is used as a carrier during the granule-making process to help the herbs extract and dissolve easily.
  • Typically contain just three to five gentle herbs, combined in thoughtful ways
  • Are intentionally crafted to balance taste and purpose
  • Brew quickly and easily
  • Come in environmentally conscious packaging such as recyclable tinplate tins and minimal plastics for product safety (such as kraft or foil pouches with thin food-safe PE linings)

How are herbal granules typically made?

Herbal granules begin with whole herbs, just like you’d use in traditional teas or decoctions. The herbs are simmered in water to extract their natural compounds, then the liquid is filtered and concentrated. Finally, the extract is gently dried into a stable powder or granule — often with a small amount of maltodextrin as a carrier — so it dissolves easily in hot water.

This process captures the depth of traditional herbal preparation in a modern, convenient form.

What's the difference between herbal granules and loose-leaf or bagged tea?

Herbal granules are made by simmering whole herbs, concentrating the extract, and drying it into a form that dissolves directly in hot water. This process creates a 5:1 concentration — meaning just 1 gram of granules equals 5 grams of raw herbs. Granules deliver the depth of traditional herbs in a much smaller serving size.

Compared to loose-leaf or bagged tea, granules:

  • Dissolve completely — no tea bags, no strainers, no mess
  • Are more concentrated than standard leaf tea
  • Avoid the microplastics and chemicals often found in tea bags
  • Provide a consistent, full-bodied cup every time

Herbal granules capture the richness of traditional preparation in a form that’s pure, potent, and convenient.

How To Enjoy

How do I brew the granules?

You do not need a tea bag or strainer. Instead, simply use the mini acacia spoon included with every tin to scoop 2 rounded spoonfuls of loose granules into a cup, add 8-10oz of hot water, and stir with a kitchen spoon until dissolved. Adjust strength to taste, if desired. Enjoy with or without sweetener.

Granules may occasionally clump in the tin. If this happens, just give it a shake to break them apart. For best freshness, store in a cool, dry place.

How long do the blends stay fresh?

Unopened tins and pouches stay fresh for a year or more when stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Once opened, keep the container sealed when not in use to keep moisture out.

If the granules clump in the tin, don’t worry — just give it a shake to break them apart. Always use a dry spoon; never let water or damp utensils touch the granules.

Because our blends are concentrated extracts, they tend to stay fresh longer than loose-leaf teas — but like any natural product, they’re best enjoyed sooner rather than later.

Ingredients & Quality

Do your blends contain caffeine?

Most of our blends are naturally caffeine-free. The only exception is Morning Boost, which contains raw cacao. Cacao provides gentle, naturally occurring caffeine along with theobromine — offering steady, feel-good energy without the jitters.

Are there added sugars or sweeteners in your blends?

No. We don’t add sugar, flavors, or preservatives — our blends contain only the herbal granules themselves. Any sweetness you taste comes naturally from ingredients like red date, honey-roasted licorice root, inner bark of cinnamon, and apothecary rose.

These naturally sweet herbs bring a pleasant, balanced taste to our blends. Many people find that, over time, they enjoy the natural sweetness so much that they use less added sweetener in their cup.

Are your blends gluten-free or allergen-free?

Most of our blends are gluten-free, made with granules that use a gluten-free, hypoallergenic maltodextrin base as a carrier to help the herbs extract and dissolve easily. The only exception is Two Too Many, which contains Shen Qu (fermented wheat bran). The raw cacao we use is also naturally gluten-free.

If a blend contains additional allergens — such as tree nuts/seeds, animal derivatives, shellfish derivatives, or soy — these will be clearly listed on both the product label and the product page under ingredients.

What is the concentration of your herbal granules?

Our granules are made as 5:1 full-spectrum herbal extracts — meaning just 1 gram of granules equals 5 grams of raw herbs.

This allows us to deliver the depth of traditional herbal preparation in a compact, easy-to-use form.

Where do your herbs come from, and how are they tested?

We source premium-quality herbs through U.S. suppliers of authentic Chinese herbs, often used by herbal practitioners. Most of our herbs come from the ancient herbal medicine tradition of China, where authenticity and origin matter deeply. In traditional practice, the soil, climate, water, cultivation techniques, and timing all influence the quality of an herb — and our sourcing reflects that care.

The herbal granules we use are laboratory tested in the United States and produced in facilities that follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). They are tested for microbes, heavy metals, and pesticides, and verified to meet or exceed pharmacopeia standards in the U.S., China, and Taiwan for heavy metals.

Packaging & Purchasing

How do you approach packaging and sustainability?

We do our best to keep our footprint low while making sure your blends arrive fresh and safe. Our tinplate tins are reusable and recyclable, our hand-polished acacia wood spoons are reusable, and our shipping boxes and kraft mailers are recyclable with recycled content. We cushion shipments with kraft paper shreds that are compostable (and recyclable where shredded paper is accepted). Our kraft paper labels use a recycling-compatible adhesive, so they can be recycled when attached to tins, cardboard, or paper packaging. For added protection in transit, we use bubble pouches made from LDPE #4 plastic, which can be recycled through drop-off programs for plastic bags and film (not curbside). Some items — like kraft or foil pouches with thin food-safe PE linings, tamper-evident seals, and thermal shipping labels — aren’t recyclable, but they’re necessary for freshness and safe delivery. As we grow, we’re committed to moving towards lower-impact options.

Why are your tins and other packaging so small?

Our tins, bags, and pouches may look tiny — but they’re mighty. The herbal granules inside are made at a 5:1 concentration, meaning just 1 gram of granules equals 5 grams of raw herbs.

This gives you the full strength and depth of traditional herbs in a compact, easy-to-store container — without the health concerns of tea bags or the mess and hassle of strainers.
